Ohio Training Grants Now Available for Dealerships

Until now, dealerships have been excluded from the Ohio Incumbent Workforce Training Voucher Program. But that changed last week when the Ohio legislature and Governor Kasich added automotive service technicians to the list of eligible employees. Check out Service Techs Eligible for Training Vouchers for more details about the expansion that covers auto service techs.

The program covers half of the employer’s training costs for certain types of training, up to a maximum of $4,000 per employee and $100,000 per employer per year. To learn more about the program in general, read Training Vouchers, which covers the 2016 program in detail. It is expected that the 2017 program will be administered similarly to the 2016 program, which means the application process will open up this fall. So it’s not too early to assess your training needs and start preparing your application.

The application can appear straightforward, but as a first-time applicant you may want to seek expert advice.

If you would like to discuss the grants, and the potential benefits to your employees and your dealership, please contact Sam Agresti, Brady Dealership Advisors Team Leader, at 614.384.8410 or sagresti@bradyware.com to learn how we can work together to get you your fair share of these training grants.
